Quite a few projects were successfully completed by SRA members in the period January - May.

1. Autoport 2.0 : Autoport 2.0, an automated port loading and unloading system was successfully completed. Various improvements over last year's Autoport project were made. A detailed report can be found here.

2. Horizon : Horizon, a wireless non-tactile human interfacing device was successfully developed. The device aims at providing easier control over devices using hand gestures. The project won quite a few laurels and was highly appreciated as innovative and useful. A detailed report can be found here.

3. Robocon : An SRA team participated in the India leg of ABU- Robocon 2009. Cooperation between people and robots was the theme of the competition, with the goal being to carry an autonomous robot in a "kago" carried by one manual and one autonomous bot through challenging terrain to the desired destination. The team successfully made it to the League of Top 16 teams, in a competition which saw participation from premier institutions all over India.

4. The Humminger : SRA members participated in a student competition conducted by the DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation) at the ADE, Bangalore . They developed a “Deployable low cost outdoor surveillance system" for the competition. The design was greatly appreciated. A detailed project report can be found here.

A small line follower competition was also organised in the month of March where we saw some really neat circuits and clean designs. Kudos to the teams who took part!

We look forward to a productive academic year ahead. We're already working on 3 new projects to go along, and as usual, if you are interested in being a part of it all, drop by at MLR 11, 2nd Floor, ME Department on a weekday anytime before 5.
